TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE
This shipment is accepted by Jupiter Couriers for carriage on behalf of the
shiper subject to the terms and conditions herein after set out.
1. Shippers may kindly note that their documents /non documents do not contain
Personal mail, currency, Jewellery, drugs, share certificates, Passports, Visa
or any other articles which will infringe the Indian Postal Act 1893.
2. The consignor shall be solely responsible for all damages where goods of
hazardous nature which are prohibited by the Railways, Airport Authority or any
other Transport Agency, accepted by us due to incorrect description furnished by
the consignor, in the space provided overleaf.
3. The shipments under this consignment note is carried at the shipper’s risk.
4. It is the shipper’s obligation to ensure that all shipments rendered to
Jupiter Couriers for carriage are prepared and packed sufficiently to ensure
safe transportation with ordinary care in handling.
5. Jupiter Courier has the right but not the obligation to open and/ or inspect
any shipment consigned by the shipper to ensure that all the items are capable
of carriage to the destination within the standard operating procedure and
handing method.
6. We shall not be liable for any loss due to confiscation of goods by any
Government or Local Authority.
7. Shipers are advised insure parcels containing articles, worth above Rs. 100/-
8. We shall not be liable for any loss, damage or late deliveries due to causes
beyond our control such as Fire, Accident, Riot, Strikes, War, Floods, and
Natural Calamites etc.
9. Our liability in case of any damage, shall not exceed Rs. 100/- (0ne Hundred
Only) per article for any causes.
10. Octroi or any other charges leviable by Central/state local authority
wherever applicable shall be extra and payable by the consignor / consignee.
11. The contents are described in the words of the consignor. We shall not be
liable if they are not the same.
12. Our liability shall be purely that of a common carrier as per the Indian
Carriers Act 1865 subject to the limits aforesaid
13. Courts in Cochin city where our Head office is situated alone shall have the
jurisdiction to try an suit, claim or other legal actions against us.
14. No claims will be entertained after 30 days from the date of booking
15. This is a non-negotiable consignment note subject to standard conditions
aforesaid.
